Research direction

Start with test_future.py::test_on_done_called_after_cancel and test_paging.py::test_fetch_next_page_twice_returns_the_same_rows; the issue identifies both intermittent assertions. Read the test setup and run these tests repeatedly to reproduce the CI failures. Done when cancellation behavior and repeated-page state bytes are checked reliably without intermittent failures.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

Two tests fail sometimes in CI:

  • test_future.py::test_on_done_called_after_cancel: the query can complete before cancel() runs, so cancelled() is False.
  • test_paging.py::test_fetch_next_page_twice_returns_the_same_rows: two fetches of the same page return the same rows, but the paging state bytes can differ.
