Research direction
Start at ndarray::ArrayViewMut::windows and compare its current behavior with the mutable access required by this issue. Determine how the API can produce mutable windows while preserving the intended interval updates, then add coverage showing that windows from an ArrayViewMut can be modified and that the changes affect the underlying values.
Written by the indexing model from the issue text.
Description
Calling .windows() on an ndarray::ArrayViewMut should return mutable windows. That's very useful when, for example, you iterate over a partition of an interval and the quantities you compute affect values living on both ends of the interval.
