Research direction

Start by locating the CJKV Fix implementation and the “Switch Focus” method, then trace how it changes focus during input-source switching. The report provides no file or test names, so first identify where that handoff is triggered and how it can cause a visible flash. Done means switching among Sogou Pinyin, ABC, and 2-Set Korean remains reliable without visible flashing; the issue leaves the proposed adjustment or disable option open.

Description

Environment

  • macOS 27.0
  • Apple Silicon (M1 Pro)
  • Input sources: ABC, Sogou Pinyin (Simplified Chinese), and 2-Set Korean
  • Input Source Pro CJKV Fix enabled, using the “Switch Focus” method
  • Sogou's own Chinese/English shortcut is disabled

Problem

The CJKV Fix resolves the input-source reliability issue, but the screen visibly flashes/flickers every time an input source is changed.

Before enabling the fix, switching directly from Sogou Pinyin to Korean could leave typing in English instead of Korean. With the CJKV Fix using “Switch Focus”, direct Chinese → Korean switching now works reliably, but every switch visibly flashes.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable CJKV Fix and select “Switch Focus”.
  2. Switch among Sogou Pinyin, ABC, and 2-Set Korean using Input Source Pro shortcuts.
  3. Observe a visible flash on each switch, including when switching Chinese → Korean.

Expected behavior

The CJKV workaround should stabilize the selected input source without a visible screen flash or focus flicker.

Actual behavior

Input source selection is now correct, but the focus-switch workaround visibly flashes on every input-source change.

A less visible focus handoff, or an option to adjust/disable the visual flash while preserving reliable CJKV switching, would improve the experience.
