Research direction

The issue expresses interest in supporting the TimeSplitters trilogy and asks how to begin learning, but it does not identify a specific change or entry point in the code. Start by reading the project’s contribution guidance and build instructions; ask maintainers whether game support is in scope and which part would make a useful first task. Done would need a concrete, agreed contribution goal.

Description

Hello Ranieri!

My name is gabriel and I'm brazilian. I don't know if you're one as well , but..

First of all, congratulations on your work and thank you for making this project possible!

I'd like to share an idea and express my interest in contributing to PS2Recomp.

I'm a recent graduate, but I have no professional experience in game development or software development. I've never worked in this field or had an internship in this area.

However, I'm genuinely curious, motivated to learn, and very interested in understanding how projects like this work. I'd love to gain experience and, if possible, contribute to the project.

One of my personal goals is to see the original TimeSplitters trilogy supported:

  • TimeSplitters
  • TimeSplitters 2
  • TimeSplitters: Future Perfect

I'd particularly love to explore the possibility of playing these games on PC with mouse and keyboard support, providing an experience closer to traditional PC shooters.

I understand that I currently lack the technical knowledge to contribute directly, but I'm willing to study, learn and work towards that goal.

My questions are:

  1. Would supporting these three games be a possibility for PS2Recomp?
  2. Is there a way for someone with little or no experience to start learning and eventually contribute to this project?
  3. What programming languages, tools or concepts would you recommend I study first?

I'd really appreciate any advice or direction you could give me.

Thank you for your time, and congratulations again on your work!
