The rule is NameRule [A-Za-z0-9._-]+ in data/client/config/ResourceDescriptor.xml, one entry per resource type. Before editing, get a maintainer decision on whether spaces are allowed, since that choice decides whether the change is a message fix or an audit of WebDAV, job-script and transfer paths. Done means the rejection message states that spaces are not allowed and suggests _ or -, or the rule is relaxed with those paths verified.

Descrição

Found 2026-10-15 on Linux when naming a new calculation: a name with a space is not accepted. Every resource type's NameRule in data/client/config/ResourceDescriptor.xml is [A-Za-z0-9._-]+, so the prompt rejects it.

Names become directory names on the data server and in job scripts, so allowing spaces needs a check of every path that quotes them (WebDAV URLs, gensub/sh job scripts, ssh/scp transfer, the Windows client) before the rule is relaxed. Until then the rejection message should say plainly that spaces are not allowed and suggest _ or -.

Decision needed: allow spaces (larger change, needs that audit), or keep the rule and improve the message.
