Research direction

Find the legacy client listing and tool response handling, then check how they process outputSchema and structuredContent for revisions before 2025-11-25. Reproduce the case with an array output schema and array structured content, and compare it with the earlier object-only requirements. Done means legacy clients no longer receive tools or results they reject; the issue does not identify file paths or tests.

Description

2026-07-28 allows any outputSchema and any JSON value in structuredContent; earlier revisions require outputSchema.type: 'object' and an object structuredContent. A tool registered with outputSchema: { type: 'array' } is listed with that schema to legacy clients and returns structuredContent: [1, 2], which their schema validation rejects. Such tools should be omitted from (or adapted for) the legacy listing.
