Environment

OS: Windows 11 Pro, version 21H2

OS build: 22000.194

OpenClaw Windows Hub / Companion: 2026.9.8-1 (application version 2026.9.8.0)

.NET Runtime: Microsoft.NETCore.App 10.0.12 and Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App 10.0.12

Architecture: Windows x64

Problem

OpenClaw Companion crashes immediately on startup and the tray application does not open. Launching OpenClaw.Tray.WinUI.exe directly also fails.

Steps tried

Uninstalled and reinstalled OpenClaw Companion using the official x64 installer.

Installed the official .NET Desktop Runtime 10.0.12 (x64).

Restarted Windows and tried launching the application again.

Ran sfc /scannow; Windows reported no integrity violations.

Error details

Windows Event Viewer reports:

Event ID: 1023 (.NET Runtime)

CoreCLR version: 10.0.1226.42308

.NET version: 10.0.12

Exception / exit code: 0x80131506

Fault module: coreclr.dll

The application still crashes after reinstalling the app and installing the required .NET runtime.

Expected behavior

OpenClaw Companion should start normally and display its system tray icon.

Actual behavior

The application terminates during startup with an internal .NET Runtime error.
