Research direction
Start by locating the terminal resize event handling code in the Rust codex-cli codebase, which manages terminal size changes and updates the UI state. Reproduce the issue by running the CLI from Git Bash on Windows, resizing the terminal window larger then smaller, to confirm the broken input and scrolling behavior. The fix is complete when resizing no longer breaks chat input and previous conversation content remains accessible via scrolling after a resize.

Description
Environment
Windows, Codex CLI launched from Git Bash.
codex --version in the reporting environment returns codex-cli 0.160.1. The version in the user's already-running Git Bash session was not independently verified.
Exact terminal host/version is unknown.
Steps to reproduce (user reported)
- Launch
codexfrom Git Bash. - Enlarge the terminal window.
- Reduce it back to a smaller size.
- Attempt to type a chat message.
- Scroll upward to view earlier conversation output.
Actual behavior
After enlarging and shrinking the window, chat input stops working. Scrolling upward does not show the earlier conversation content as expected. These symptoms prevent continuing the conversation and reviewing previous messages.
Expected behavior
Codex should continue accepting input after terminal resize, and earlier conversation content should remain accessible through the supported history/scrolling mechanism.
Additional information
The user explicitly clarified that this is Codex CLI in Git Bash, rather than the desktop app. This report is submitted at the user's request. The issue has not been independently reproduced by the reporting agent. No private conversation transcript or logs are attached.
