Research direction

The issue identifies the “Stop the play key opening Music” option but names no source files or tests. Start by locating that setting’s implementation and how it handles media key events on macOS, then check the behavior with VLC already open. Done means the option prevents Apple Music from opening while Play still pauses and resumes VLC.

Description

What happened

First of all, THANK YOU for this amazing app. Wasn't it a mere command line tool a few days ago? Love the sleek app interace and there are indeed several more switches and settings that helped me. For example I could get rid of over 50GB of cache junk.

One functionality that I also like, but that has an unwanted side-effect, is "Stop the play key opening Music". Indeed I appreciate that it doesn't open the Apple Music app anymore. However, it also stops working for VLC player. Usually, when I have VLC open and let it play some music in the background, the Play key works to pause/resume, which is convenient. Sadly, RemoveMacAI also breaks this function. Maybe you can give it a look. For now, I have disengaged that option. In short: It should prevent the Apple Music app from opening, but not intervene with an already opened music player, that works with play/pause.
