Description

Hardware: ASUS TX GAMING B850M WIFI W（BIOS 1078）/ Ryzen 7 9800X3D / RTX 5070 Ti / 32GB DDR5/ Samsung 990 PRO 4T
Install macOS Sequoia with Nullmoth open source NVIDIA Driver project

Bootloader: OpenCore 1.0.8 with all 27 AMD Vanilla kernel patches installed successfully

Problem: bootbase.efi fully loads the kernel to 0xb100000 (KMA enabled), OC applies all patches, injects all kexts, and prints the memory mapping table. The bootloader then prints EB|STOP 0x16 → a forbidden symbol.

The kernel is never executed (no kernel output, not a panic).
Reproduced in:

  • 15.6.1 recovery (made by 1401)

  • 15.7.7 recovery (OC preloaded BaseSystem.dmg method)

  • 15.7.7 full installer (booter crashes earlier at STOP 0x15 while loading dmg, low memory)

Resolved issues:

  • EFI/config issues (logs show patch and injection all successful)

  • Image corruption (SHA-256 + chunklist verification passed)

  • USB port, duplicate patches, AM5 hotplug patch, IOMMU (DisableIoMapper true/BIOS off),

SMBIOS (tried on iMacPro1,1 / MacPro7,1)

  • CSR 0x0A43, SecureBootModel=Disabled
    Questions:

  1. What does EB|STOP 0x16 mean during the kernel delivery phase on an x86 Hackintosh?

  2. Are there any successful boot instances of the Sequoia installer on a 9800X3D (family 1Ah) + AM5?

Could someone who used an X870E + 9800X3D + Sequoia system share their boot-args/quirks from that experience?Thanks a lot.
