Research direction

Start by reading the NVIDIA driver installation and device initialization paths; the report does not identify a file or test. Reproduce on macOS 15.8.1 with the RTX 4060 Ti over DisplayPort and inspect the supplied logs using report ID nm-00000000. Done means the monitor appears as a sound output and can play audio.

What happens

Summary

With the NullMoth NVIDIA driver installed, graphics work fine on my RTX 4060 Ti, but DisplayPort audio is not available. The monitor does not appear as an output device in System Settings > Sound. Only "Internal Speakers" and "Headphones" (onboard Realtek audio) are listed.

Environment

  • 1401 version: 2.4.3
  • NVIDIA driver: nullmoth-nvidia-2.4.3
  • macOS: Sequoia 15.8.1
  • SMBIOS: MacPro7,1
  • PC: GALLERIA VSA7C-R46T (Thirdwave)
  • Motherboard: ASRock B760 TW (OEM)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-14700F (no iGPU)
  • GPU: Palit GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB
  • Display: 2560x1440 @ 60Hz via DisplayPort (monitor has built-in speakers)

What works

  • GPU acceleration, correct resolution, video playback in Safari
  • RTX 4060 Ti is correctly recognized in System Information

What doesn't work

  • No DisplayPort audio output device appears in macOS
  • The same monitor speakers work over DisplayPort in Windows 11

Note: The RTX 4060 Ti was listed as "supported but not yet tested", so I hope this report helps.
