Research direction
Start by reviewing the participant table and the owner implementation referenced in #3988. Verify how participant voting states are represented, then implement the requested option-column sorting and confirm that repeated clicks cycle through ascending, descending, and default order while keeping the current user first.
Written by the indexing model from the issue text.
Description
⚠️ This issue respects the following points: ⚠️
- I agree to follow Nextcloud's Code of Conduct.
Describe the goal you'd like to achieve
As a poll participant, I want to easily get an overview about who has voted for what, because helps to select the accepted option (in case of a par, one participant might be more important) or to contact other people that voted for the same option.
Describe possible solutions
Sort/Group Participants by selected option
In the table view, when I want to see all participants that voted for Option A, the only way to do that is to scroll through the complete list and check manually. Depending on the order in which the participants voted, only the first and last user could have voted for option A, all others for option B, making it necessary to scroll to the very bottom.
I propose that clicking on the Option text "A" sorts the participants like this:
- current user
- users that voted for option A, in the order of participation
- users that voted "maybe" for option A, in the order of participation
- users that did not vote for option A, in the order of participation
second click sorts "reversed", i.e. 2-4. are reversed. Third click resets to default sorting. A small triangle up/down icon can indicate the sorting.
Additional context
This functionality has already been implemented for poll owners in #3988 - many thanks for this again!
This issue here asks for the feature to be made also available to poll participants.
Split from #3322 as follow-up for more fine-grained tracking.
