Research direction

Start by reviewing the Fractal releases linked in the issue and the current Protocol documentation build setup. Compare continuing with an actively maintained service against moving Protocol directly into bedrock and retiring the docs site. Done means selecting and documenting a migration direction with a defined replacement or retirement plan.

Description

Discussion :bike:

Our docs build tool, Fractal, hasn't had a new release since 2023-01-26: https://github.com/frctl/fractal/releases

We should have an actively maintained service.
We could also consider moving Protocol directly into bedrock and retiring the docs site.
