Research direction

The request proposes repeater blocklists, message hash and channel controls, and optional automatic blocking based on hardware-specific behavior. No files, tests, or entry points are named; first read the repeater implementation and existing message handling. Done would require agreeing on the detection rules and opt-in behavior, then implementing and validating them.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

There are

  • misconfigured repeaters
  • old firmware repeaters
  • malicious use of meshcore

Please add Repeaters options to:

  • blocklist repeaters
  • hashes (e.g. frequent ANON_REQ )
  • channels
  • channel time reserve for DMs / scoped Messages

depending on the HW one could automatically identify malicious behaviour and thus allow the repeater to automatically (please as an opt-in) block "spammers".
