$ printf 'ab cdefghijkl' | xargs -x -s11; echo $?
GNU prints nothing, reports xargs: argument line too long, and exits 1. uutils prints ab, reports Error: Argument too large, and exits 1. Without -x, both print ab before reporting the error.
