What happened

skills/learn/SKILL.md step 2 tells the main session to find its transcript with Glob. In the #530 run the main session had no Glob tool. The model said "Glob isn't in my toolset" and used a node -e script over ~/.claude/projects/* instead. It found the right file, but only because the model improvised.

In the same session it also read the Bookmark and the rules file with cat and wrote the Bookmark with node -e, not with Read and Write. The skill allows only git and node in shell commands.

Expected

Every step of the skill uses a tool the main session has.

Evidence

  • Session 20a136cc-ca6f-45d7-aa94-567f2cac0b25, Claude Code 2.1.283, macOS.
  • The orchestrator session in the same clone, on the same version, also has no Glob or Grep tool. Its shell find and grep report as bfs and ugrep.
  • The subagent learned-rules-drafter, which declares tools: Read, Glob, Grep, did get Grep and used it three times. The subagent is not affected.

Unverified: whether Glob is missing in every 2.1.283 session or only under some setting.

Candidate fix

Replace the Glob in step 2 with a node -e lookup, the same way #526 and #529 already replaced the listing in step 4.
