Settings › Integrations › Connect an AI tool has ready-to-copy MCP setups for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Copilot CLI and Codex. Gemini CLI adds a stdio MCP server with one command and shows MCP prompts as slash commands, so it fits the same pattern as Codex and Copilot CLI.
What to do
- Add
GeminiClitoMcpClient, toMcpClientSetup.Clientsafter Codex, and a case inMcpClientSetup.Fornamed "Gemini CLI". The snippet isgemini mcp add --scope user prompuff {Quote(command)} mcp, and the steps say it adds Prompuff to~/.gemini/settings.json, in the same voice as the others. Check the command against Gemini CLI's MCP docs, and run it if you have Gemini CLI. - Add Gemini CLI to the setup table in
README.mdand to the list of tools indocs/user-guide.md.
