説明
When a project pins no templateOptions.kubernetesVersion, the render strips the Kubernetes component images so the node picks its own. stripDefaultedImages decides what to strip by comparing each value against what the fallback would have produced, so an operator who pinned that exact string loses the pin.
The behaviour is deliberate and the code says so: by value alone the two are indistinguishable. It starts to matter after a Talos upgrade, where the node's own default moves and the applied config no longer carries what the operator wrote.
Doing it properly means tracking which image fields came from the source patches and stripping only the ones the generator added.
