説明
Starting from a bootc composefs backend + systemd-boot system with a BLS image, bootc switch to a UKI image fails during grabadge collection after staging it. Any following commands like bootc status, bootc rollback fail with the same error:
error: Switching: Composefs Switching: Performing Upgrade Operation: Running composefs garbage collection: Getting composefs deployment status: Getting composefs deployment status: Conflicting boot types
$ sudo bootc status
error: Status: Getting composefs deployment status: Getting composefs deployment status: Conflicting boot types
The status code requires every deployment to share one boot type (status.rs#L990-L995).
Expected behavior:
- The switch succeeds and keeps the BLS deployment for rollback.
- Or bootc simply refuses with a clear error msg before staging.
Tested on bootc v1.16.10 + Ubuntu 26.04 image, but this will still happen on main currently as well.
