Prerequisites
  • Existing Issue: Search the existing issues for this repository. If there is an issue that fits your needs do not file a new one. Subscribe, react, or comment on that issue instead.
  • Descriptive Title: Write the title for this issue as a short synopsis. If possible, provide context. For example, "Document new Get-Foo cmdlet" instead of "New cmdlet."
Summary

With this PR https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell/pull/28276, it uses a Appx manifest feature to defer updates until pwsh.exe is not running instead of forcibly terminating pwsh.exe which customers had complained about. However, using defer also means that tools outside of the Store that manage updates can't force update the PowerShell 7 Appx package. This change in behavior should be documented.
