I've seen a couple markdown files that include HTML tags for formatting, and it would be nice if those could be handled.
Describe the solution you'd like
Obviously a full HTML renderer is out of scope for this project, but (in my opinion) aliasing tags that have markdown equivalents to those equivalents (e.g. <em> and </em> would be aliased to *, <b> and </b> would be aliased to **) and hiding all others would be a good way to handle this issue.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I can't think of any other good ways to handle this issue.
