Direzione di ricerca

Start by reading the CommandQueue constructor docs for rive-android 11.15.0 and the deferred rendering documentation mentioned in the issue. Find whether a tracking issue or roadmap entry covers GPU Canvas support across command queues, production safety by device or GPU family, and per-view or per-file rendering on a regular worker. Done when those questions have clear answers or are linked to authoritative tracking issues.

Descrizione

On Android, rendering GPU Canvas (3D) content needs the deferred worker, CommandQueue(renderBackend, enableGPUCanvas = true), which requires opting into @ExperimentalDeferredRendering.

The constructor docs in 11.15.0 say:

GPU Canvas content draws through a deferred renderer, which does not improve rendering performance yet. This constructor will be removed once every command queue can render GPU Canvas content.

Questions:

  1. Is there a timeline or tracking issue for every CommandQueue rendering GPU Canvas content, so the experimental opt-in goes away?
  2. Until then, is the deferred worker considered safe for production? Are there device or GPU families (e.g. Mali, low-end Adreno) where it's not recommended?
  3. Is GPU Canvas per view, or per file, on a regular worker on the roadmap?
