Direzione di ricerca

Read the FP64 conversion in src/rest_parser.cpp and the regression test in src/test/kfs_rest_parser_test.cpp. Check how the parsed value is stored in protobuf fp64_contents, then run the parser test with the project’s C++ test setup. Done means the test confirms 1.23456789012345 retains double precision; an open linked pull request already addresses this issue.

Descrizione

Description

The KServe REST parser's FP64 handling appears to convert JSON numeric values to single-precision float using RapidJSON GetFloat() before storing them in protobuf fp64_contents, which is a double field. This loses precision for FP64 inputs.

Expected behavior

FP64 REST input values should retain double precision when parsed.

Reproduction

Send a KServe REST request with an input containing:

  • datatype: FP64
  • shape: [1]
  • data: [1.23456789012345]

The parsed value should match the original double.

Evidence

Source inspection identifies the GetFloat() conversion in src/rest_parser.cpp. A numerical check shows the value becomes 1.2345678806304932 after float32 conversion, rather than 1.23456789012345.

Test status

A regression test has been added to src/test/kfs_rest_parser_test.cpp, but the C++ test has not been executed because Bazel and Bazelisk are unavailable in the current environment.
