Description

Can't run C file using the play button. The menu only shows (gdb) launch. I'm sure that GCC is install and in PATH. Same in WSL.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Check if GCC is installed and is in PATH. If not, install it and add it to PATH.
  2. Open a new folder.
  3. create a .c file.
  4. Enter some code
  5. Check if the C/C++ extension by Microsoft is installed. If not, install it and reload VS Code.
  6. Click on the arrow beside the play button on the top right of the window.
  7. Select "Run C/C++ file"
  8. See that only (gdb) launch (and (Windows) launch on Windows) shows up. Notice that there is no option that looks like gcc build active file.
