Direzione di ricerca

Start with the bitHuman avatar page, in the “Avatar setup → Pass model files” section, and check whether its source is available in this repository; the issue says the docs repository is archived. If you find the source or a maintainer-approved route to edit it, replace the current callout with the proposed wording. Done means the published callout communicates the on-prem CPU option, supported platforms, offline licensing note, and host-sizing advice.

Descrizione

Hi LiveKit team. I'm from bitHuman, the vendor behind this plugin. Could you update one callout on the bitHuman avatar integration page, https://docs.livekit.io/agents/models/avatar/plugins/bithuman/ (section Avatar setup → Pass model files)?

The docs site's source doesn't seem to be public any more (livekit/livekit-docs is archived), so I'm filing it here next to the plugin.

Current

ℹ️ Local .imx models use more CPU
Agents consume more CPU when using .imx models directly.

Proposed

ℹ️ Runs on-prem on CPU, no GPU required
Local .imx models render the avatar inside your agent process on standard CPUs (Linux x86_64/ARM64 and Apple silicon macOS), with no GPU required. With a bitHuman Business or Enterprise license, avatars can also run fully offline. Size agent hosts for the avatar's CPU load.

Why: the current wording reads as a drawback. The local runtime is a deliberate on-prem option: rendering stays on the customer's own hardware, no GPU is needed, and it supports offline deployments (kiosks, trade shows, embedded screens). The proposed text keeps the practical sizing note while saying what the option is for. The platforms listed match the published bithuman wheels (manylinux x86_64/aarch64 and macOS arm64).

Happy to adjust the wording. Contact: [email protected].
