Direzione di ricerca

Start by reading how the polar alignment RA-axis estimate is produced in the PiFinder codebase (look for the polar alignment / solver modules and any UI that reports the offset to the user). The issue does not name files, so first map where the solution is computed and what data is available there. Done looks like: alongside the axis estimate, an angular uncertainty in RA/Dec (or a single angle) is surfaced, and the UI can compare it against the angular offset from the pole to advise the user. Requires astronomy/math background and no comments or assignees to lean on.

Descrizione

Together with the estimate of the RA-axis, what we ideally want is an uncertainty of the solution in angles in (RA, Dec) or just a single angle.

If the angular uncertainty smaller than the angular offset from the pole, the user should attempt to adjust the mount. If the uncertainty is of the order of the angular offset, it's at the limit of accuracy and no further adjustment needed.
