Direzione di ricerca

Start by reading the repository’s Helia initialization code and the related context in issue #43; the issue does not name a file. Prototype a SharedWorker-hosted node and a Web Locks leader-election alternative, then measure initialization time, two-tab correctness, and Safari and Firefox support. Document the support matrix, prototype results, and manual two-tab scenarios; open a follow-up implementation issue if the decision is to proceed.

Scritto dal modello di indicizzazione a partire dal testo della issue.

Descrizione

enhancement helia research-spike storage tier-3

Summary

Two tabs currently each open a Helia node over the same IndexedDB stores. Decide how to avoid contention.

Estimated size: S

Current state in this repo

  • Each tab owns its own instance; the init code guards open() with timeouts because a pending version-change in another tab can hang it.

Proposal

  • Prototype a SharedWorker-hosted node and a Web Locks leader-election alternative.
  • Measure init time, correctness with two tabs, and Safari and Firefox support.
  • Write the decision in the PR description or docs/.

Acceptance criteria

  • A written decision with the support matrix and the prototype's results.
  • Follow-up implementation issue opened if the answer is yes.

Out of scope

  • Shipping the chosen design.

Dependencies

  • None; can be picked up independently.

Testing plan

  • Manual two-tab scenarios documented in the write-up.

Part of #43. Ground rules for the content layer: no secrets in the repo, content-layer failures must never block or discard quantum execution, and tests and docs ship with every PR.
