Direzione di ricerca

Start with the failing job in conda-notebook-tests and the notebook multi_GPU_PDLP_example/mPDLP_tutorial.ipynb, where run_cuopt("afiro.mps", num_gpus=4) is called. First confirm that exit code 255 comes from cuopt_cli rejecting more GPUs than are visible, then pick one of the two options. Done means the nightly job passes on a single-GPU runner. The fix choice is still open, so ask in the thread before starting.

Descrizione

bug

Summary

conda-notebook-tests fails every nightly: multi_GPU_PDLP_example/mPDLP_tutorial.ipynb runs cuopt_cli with 4 GPUs (run_cuopt("afiro.mps", num_gpus=4)) and the job runs on a single-GPU L4 runner. The CLI exits 255 and the notebook raises RuntimeError: No solver Time in cuopt_cli output (exit code 255).

Evidence

Nightly run 38520012990, job conda-notebook-tests / build (115707333676). conda-notebook-tests also failed in every nightly from 09-27 to 10-14; I only read the log of the 10-14 run.

I have not yet confirmed the exit code 255 is the CLI rejecting more GPUs than exist (my reading), so that is the first thing to check.

Options

  • Make the notebook adapt to the number of visible GPUs (and say so in the text), or
  • Exclude the multi-GPU notebook from the single-GPU notebook job and run it in a multi-GPU job if one exists.
