_wrffortran cannot be found after installing from source

Inizia da src/wrf/config.py e dall’importazione di _wrffortran raggiunta tramite src/wrf/init.py e api.py. Riproduci pip install . nelle versioni di Windows e Python indicate e verifica se vengono prodotte l’estensione e le DLL da cui dipende; il lavoro è completato quando l’importazione di wrf riesce senza l’errore di caricamento della DLL.

pip install . runs successfully, but when importing wrf in python I get the following error:

I'm trying to install from source so I can have more control over the calculations in the fortran scripts. I'm happy to use conda install if there's some way to manually change the fortran calculations, but I can't see that functionality.
