Start with the recipe format and the waveguide route it feeds, then pick a gallery script that uses Simulation.from_waveguide with supplied modes and a literal energy, since that is the closest match. Add a waveguide example recipe under solprop.recipe.examples that mirrors that script, and check it against the route's existing tests. Done means the recipe builds through the route and an equivalence test shows it matches the script's result.

The waveguide route takes recipes (SEP 41), but none of the seven gallery scripts on it can be written as one: five build the guide from a provider, which has no table form, one passes an array to with_input, and one uses a metal cladding, which is not registered. The route is tested against the guide's calls instead.
A short gas-filled waveguide tutorial built with a plain Simulation.from_waveguide (supplied modes, a literal energy) would give the route an example recipe in solprop.recipe.examples, which a front end starts from, and an equivalence test against the script it mirrors.
