Descrizione

Environment: Windows 11, Node 24.14.0, npm 11.9.0, Git with the default core.autocrlf=true. App mode: npm run dev.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Clone the repo on Windows and run npm ci.
  2. Run npm run dev.
  3. Run npm run check-format.

Expected: the dev server starts, and the format check passes on an unmodified clone, as it does in CI.

Actual

npm run dev exits immediately, because npm runs scripts through cmd.exe, which can't parse inline NODE_ENV=development:

[0] 'NODE_ENV' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
[0] operable program or batch file.
[0] NODE_ENV=development node --env-file-if-exists=.env --import tsx --watch src/server/index.ts exited with code 1
--> Sending SIGTERM to other processes..
[1] vite exited with code 1

Dropping the variable doesn't help either: src/server/index.ts only allows the Vite origin http://127.0.0.1:5173 when NODE_ENV === 'development'.

npm run check-format fails on an untouched checkout:

[warn] Code style issues found in 121 files. Run Prettier with --write to fix.

There's no .gitattributes, so Git checks files out with CRLF line endings, but Prettier 3 expects endOfLine: "lf". The files in the repository already use LF; only the working tree is affected.

Proposed fix: add .gitattributes with * text=auto eol=lf, and use cross-env in the dev script. I have a PR ready.
