Research direction

Find where the proxy in host mode starts bash by name rather than by absolute path. Resolve the shell once at process start, keep that path, log it, and use it for every command. Fail with a clear message when no shell is found, and add a test that covers that message. Done when the checklist in the issue is satisfied.

Description

area/proxy security

What needs doing

In host mode the proxy starts bash by name, so the search path
decides which binary runs. Resolve the shell once at start, keep the
absolute path, and fail with a clear message when none is found.

Why

The command that runs should not depend on the search path of the
moment.

Done when

  • The proxy logs the resolved shell path at start and uses it for
    every command.
  • A test covers the "no shell found" message.
