Research direction

Read documentation/develop/quick-start.md at the TypeScript Sample APP section and compare it with the pinned v6.6.0 demo in Message.tsx and actions/index.ts. Confirm the Accept control and the request it sends, distinguishing holder acceptance from issuer automaticIssuance. Update the guide to describe the holder action, then verify the instructions against those pinned sources.

Description

documentation

User impact

A holder waits for automatic acceptance instead of performing the action needed to send the credential request.

Affected documentation and ownership

  • Page: Quick Start Guide, GET 200 at 2026-10-28 20:48:50 UTC; affected source text is also deployed.
  • Editable owner: hyperledger-identus/docs, local hand-authored documentation/develop/quick-start.md at fa985dfa33caefa45bf1e9009e1f6f5a445344fb; not imported SDK content or generated API output.
  • Intended versions: page environment pins select Agent 2.0.0 (5865d9470dc5ce6631aec780e7cf63d4f454555a); SDK checkout selects v6.6.0 (1a9da8135ec5745bca182904f0a1703d7be6d1a2). Matching pins, not latest releases, govern this comparison.
  • Affected text: TypeScript Sample APP offer-acceptance claim

Observed versus expected

The guide says the CredentialOffer “will be automatically accepted as soon as it reaches the browser.” The pinned NextJS demo instead displays Accept / Reject for a received unanswered offer. Expected: describe the explicit holder acceptance step and where to perform it. Issuer automaticIssuance: true controls issuance after a request, not holder consent.

Evidence and reproduction

Compare Message.tsx Accept calling app.acceptCredentialOffer, the acceptCredentialOffer action preparing/sending the credential request, and the registered message handler, which processes issued credentials and displays messages rather than auto-accepting offers.

This is a pinned-source contradiction, not an interactive browser result.

Verification used Python 3.13.15 text/HTML inspection of immutable public sources and deployed text. No repository code, compiler/build, service request or browser test was run; deployment commit identity is not exposed.

Existing work checked

Fully paginated open/closed issue-and-PR inventories in docs, cloud-agent and sdk-ts, plus title/body/comment searches by page/component/root cause and relevant discussion/patch reads. Searched Quick Start, demo/accept, acceptCredentialOffer, automaticIssuance and auto-accept. Reviewed docs PR #60, #145, #159, #196, #223 and relevant discussion/patches: none repairs this sample-app acceptance claim. The protocol-filter repair proposed in closed PR #196 is separate. No matching open repair was found.

Acceptance criteria

  • TypeScript sample-app instructions describe the holder action required by v6.6.0 instead of promising automatic offer acceptance.
  • Verify the documented control/action against the pinned demo, distinguishing holder acceptance from issuer automatic issuance.
