Research direction

Start with ImportFilesAsync and ImportFolderAsync in src/Prompuff.Infrastructure/ImportExport/MarkdownTransferService.cs, then read Read and the frontmatter workflow detection in MarkdownPromptFormat.cs. Check the existing import and export tests and the behavior from Export as skill (#39); add coverage for each listed format, argument conversion, duplicate handling, notes, and round-tripping. Done means imported prompts retain the expected title, body and variables, with unmapped details reported in notes.

Description

enhancement

People already keep prompts as Claude Code commands and skills, Copilot prompt files and Gemini commands. Import should read those, so moving to Prompuff doesn't mean copying and pasting.

What to do

  • Import reads Claude Code commands (.claude/commands/*.md) and skills (SKILL.md), Agent Skills folders, Copilot .prompt.md files and Gemini CLI .toml commands, from the regular Import and from folder import.
  • Their arguments become {{variables}}: $ARGUMENTS, $1 and named $name in Claude Code, ${input:name} in Copilot and {{args}} in Gemini. Pick a variable name where the format has none, such as args.
  • Imports stay independent copies, and the usual duplicate check skips a prompt whose title and body match one in the library.
  • Anything that doesn't map, such as a skill's extra files or tool permissions, goes into the prompt's notes, and the import result lists it.
  • What Export as skill (#39) writes, Import reads back to the same title, body and variables.

Where to look

  • src/Prompuff.Infrastructure/ImportExport/MarkdownTransferService.cs: ImportFilesAsync, ImportFolderAsync
  • src/Prompuff.Infrastructure/ImportExport/MarkdownPromptFormat.cs: Read, and how a workflow file is picked out by its frontmatter

Done when

  • A folder of Claude Code commands imports with its arguments as {{variables}}.
  • Each format from Export as skill round-trips in a test.
