Research direction

Read ROADMAP.md and the Velopack setup configuration to understand how the app currently updates and installs per user. Check the winget manifest requirements for installer type and silent switches, then record a dated decision in ROADMAP.md. Done means the update ownership and installer settings are settled, and the issue has a milestone with its own checklist.

Description

enhancement later

winget install Gil Sweep. Setup is signed since v2.0.1.

What has to be settled before this gets a milestone

  • Who updates the install. Velopack updates Gil Sweep in place, so a winget upgrade must not fight it.
  • The installer entry: Velopack's Setup installs per user, and the manifest's installer type and silent switches have to match it.

Done when

  • The settled answers are a dated decision in ROADMAP.md, and this issue gets a milestone with its own checklist.
