Research direction

Start by exploring the existing annotation tools and how screen captures are edited in OpenScreen. The issue requests shapes such as rectangles and circles for framing or highlighting, plus numbered steps, and points to ShareX as an example. Done would mean agreeing on the initial annotation scope and implementing it; animations and whether shapes follow the image or camera are listed as future ideas.

Is your feature request related to a problem?

It would be great having additional annotations. For example some shapes (like rectangles, circles), both to frame an area or to highlight it. Also numbering, in order to mark some steps. I think ShareX has good examples.

And maybe for the future:

  • having animations for those shapes.
  • being able to decide if the shape is stick to the image or stick to the camera
