Línea de trabajo

The explicit-padding path is in the TFLite graph builder, graph_builder_tflite.cc under services/webnn/tflite in Chromium, which inserts a pad op that counts padded values in averages. The failing case is the averagePool2d WPT conformance test in the webnn/conformance_tests folder. The issue asks how to support exclude-padding semantics, not what exact change to make, so a design decision is needed before any edit. Done would mean the averagePool2d WPT passes on the TFLite backend.

Descripción

question

TensorFlow only offers two main padding modes for conv2d and pool2d: VALID and SAME.

  • VALID implies no padding is applied to the input.
  • SAME aims to produce an output with the same spatial dimensions as the input, assuming a stride of 1.

At current implementation of the explicit padding on TFLite backend is to insert a pad operation if the explicit padding can't treated as SAME padding mode, but inserted pad is including value when calculating values for the edges, excluding value is required for the explicit padding. So some WPT failed to run for the unexpected result.

The count_include_pad in ONNX average pool is false by default and the exclude_padding_from_average in CoreML average pool is true by default.
