Línea de trabajo

Start with the ObservedNode and ManagedNode models and the NodeInfoPacket history they are backfilled from, then look at the existing migrations and management commands for the pattern to follow. Add a normalised hex public key and an indexed crc32 id to ObservedNode, and meshtastic_public_key to ManagedNode, then extend the admin list filter. Done when the migration applies, the backfill is idempotent, malformed keys yield null, and a known test key predicts the expected id. Firmware reference: NodeDB.cpp:543.

Descripción

enhancement meshtastic-2.8

Part of pskillen/meshflow-api#437 (Meshtastic 2.8.x support). Code: ID-1 · Priority: Must · Size: M

Summary

In 2.8, node number = crc32(public_key) (firmware NodeDB.cpp:543). Upgrades reuse the existing private key, so we can predict each node's 2.8 number from keys we already store. Do this before any other upgrade work so links can be made the moment upgraded nodes appear.

  • ObservedNode: add a normalised public key (hex) and meshtastic_key_node_id (crc32 of the 32-byte key), indexed.
  • ManagedNode: add meshtastic_public_key.
  • Backfill command from ObservedNode and NodeInfoPacket history.

Acceptance criteria

  • Migration + idempotent backfill management command
  • Known test key predicts the expected id; cross-checked on real hardware (2.7 → 2.8.2 upgrade of a spare node)
  • Malformed / non-32-byte keys produce null, not errors
  • Admin list filter/search on predicted id

Depends on: none

Refs: Report §4.1 linking design. Worked example: !da545c78 → !4396524c (unverified).
