Rendering the same project with hyperframes 0.8.78 on macOS (ffmpeg 8.0.1) and in the official render Dockerfile (node:22-bookworm-slim, Debian ffmpeg 5.1.9) gives different colours. Strong colours shift: a pink pixel of RGB 228,41,130 on the Mac comes out as 240,65,131 in Docker. Encoding with the BT.601 formula and decoding with BT.709 predicts 243,64,131 for that pixel. Both outputs are tagged BT.709.
Switching the image to a current static ffmpeg (8.1) makes the Docker render match the Mac to within 1–2 levels. Setting out_color_matrix=bt709 explicitly in the encode filters would probably fix it too. That second fix is untested.
Also, in the same image the background self-updater rewrote the global package mid-render, and we had to set HYPERFRAMES_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1 and HYPERFRAMES_NO_AUTO_INSTALL=1.
