Línea de trabajo

The implementation is already in pull request https://github.com/aws-samples/serverless-patterns/pull/3330; start by reviewing its changed files and the AWS SAM deployment. Done means the pattern demonstrates successful, failing and hung jobs using Step Functions, Lambda MicroVMs and DynamoDB, with the MicroVM terminated in each case.

Descripción

Pattern name: sfn-lambda-microvms-callback-sam

Pull request: https://github.com/aws-samples/serverless-patterns/pull/3330

Description:

Run a job on an AWS Lambda MicroVM from an AWS Step Functions workflow using the AWS SDK integration for Lambda MicroVMs, receive the job's result through a task token callback, and always terminate the MicroVM, on success, failure, missed heartbeats or timeout. The workflow starts the MicroVM with the job in the run hook payload, stores its task token in Amazon DynamoDB under the MicroVM ID, and waits. The worker inside the MicroVM reads the token, sends heartbeats while it works and reports its result with SendTaskSuccess or SendTaskFailure. No Lambda function sits in between.

Services used: AWS Step Functions, AWS Lambda MicroVMs, Amazon DynamoDB.

Language: Python 3.12 (worker)
Framework: AWS SAM
Level: 300

Tested end to end in a live account: successful, failing and hung jobs, each ending with the MicroVM terminated, then the stack was deleted.
