Hello,

I'm Boram Kim from the Product UI team at Hancom Inc. (Korea). We plan to use IBM Plex Sans 1.1.0 (SIL Open Font License 1.1) in our document products and would like to confirm the following uses are within the license.

Products

  1. DSA (Document Solution Agent): an AI service that generates and edits word-processor, spreadsheet and presentation documents from user requests. The font is used for headings and body text in generated documents. Offered as a web service and as an on-premise install for customers.
  2. Simple Editor: a lightweight editor for reviewing and editing documents created by DSA. Web-based or installed on the user's PC.

Questions

  1. Installing the font files on our service servers for document generation, rendering and editing.
  2. Shipping the font files inside the on-premise package and the installable Simple Editor.
  3. End users downloading documents that use the font (including PDF with embedded subsets) and sharing them with third parties.
  4. Attribution: we will ship the OFL text and copyright notice with the package and show it in the product's license notice. Please let us know if anything else is required.
  5. We use the official release files unmodified, so we intend to keep the original font name (Reserved Font Name "Plex").

We do not sell the font files themselves. Your reply will be kept as part of our internal legal review. Thank you.
