Please review FreeCAD Robust MCP Bridge for inclusion in the Addon Index. We intend the Index to track the released branch. The initial workbench release is 0.7.1; subsequent changes to that branch will increment the manifest version and date.

The workbench connects FreeCAD to a separately installed MCP server. FreeCAD 1.0.2 is the compatibility minimum; 1.1.4 or later is recommended for security. The bridge uses FreeCAD's neutral Qt wrapper with compatibility fallbacks, and automated tests cover Qt5 and Qt6, plus Addon Manager lifecycle operations on Linux, macOS, and Windows. The maintainer has also manually tested the Addon Manager flow. We have not yet verified public Index discovery or independently collected community testing feedback.

The bridge listens on loopback only, requires per-user pairing between the MCP server and bridge, and is started by the user unless they explicitly enable auto-start. It can execute Python with the FreeCAD user's permissions; pairing does not prevent malicious applications running under the same OS user account. A status indicator is enabled by default and can be displayed while other workbenches are active. We would welcome the team's feedback on the indicator's placement and the opt-in auto-start behavior against the Index's interface and startup requirements.

The manifest declares Apache-2.0 and retained MIT terms for some contributed code, and CC-BY-SA-4.0 for icons, with license texts included. The separate MCP server is installed outside Addon Manager typically via PyPi.
