KediCAD (formerly CADdy) is an AI assistant workbench for FreeCAD 1.1. It adds a chat panel; the model
writes FreeCAD Python that runs on the active document inside a single transaction
(one Ctrl+Z per AI step), and the result is verified deterministically after each run
(topology, per-solid volume sign, open shells, mesh printability, part overlaps).
The user reviews and runs each code block; nothing executes on its own.

External service: it runs the official Claude Code CLI as a subprocess; the user's
request, a text summary of the document and optional view screenshots are sent to
Anthropic through it. This is documented in the README's Privacy section. No other
network access, nothing at import/startup time.

Packaging: legacy layout with package.xml; no sys.path changes; toolbars and menus
stay in its own workbench (a button in every workbench is an opt-in setting, off by
default).

Windows only for now (macOS/Linux tracked in issue #1). Pure Python, no extra
dependencies. Public since 2026-09-23; user feedback and an outside contribution
(PR #5) are tracked in the repository.
