Start with the documented xql.bbox_conjuncts(...) idiom and the pyarrow scan path where chunks are pruned and encoded, then read the linked discussion in PR 227 for the per-engine directions. The issue lists no concrete files, so the first step is to find where geometry predicates are lost before reaching the chunk pruner. Done means a geometry-only ST_Within query skips non-overlapping chunks without the manual bbox pairing.

Beschreibung
Today a geometry-only predicate (ST_Within(geom, ...)) scans and encodes every chunk: engines do not push ST_* function predicates into the pyarrow scan, so nothing reaches the chunk pruner. The documented idiom is pairing the predicate with xql.bbox_conjuncts(...).
It would be nice if geometry predicates pruned without the manual pairing. Rough directions per path:
