Design Proposal needs investigation Server-Side Enhancement

As it is right now the API is only really usable by site administrators

Many methods are not restricted to administrators such as Add Workbook Permissions and others, but the API uses uuid for almost everything, and there is no way other than Get Users to get a user's id, without permissions on that method, the other methods can't be used even when the permissions allow it.

What is more confusing is that there seems to be no reason for it, Get Workbook Permissions actually returns the uuid of the users that already have permissions, so I can copy permissions from one dashboard to another, but I have no way of setting up permissions, etc. for users if I dont know their uuid beforehand.

Is there any way i'm missing that lets non administrators get a user's ID so that other methods can be used effectively?
