Start with the reproducible TSX sample and compare the iOS Google Maps behavior in dark and light modes using the same googleMapId and visibility props. Trace how googleMapId, userInterfaceStyle, and showsPointsOfInterests are handled on iOS, then verify that cloud styling hides points of interest in dark mode as it does in light mode.

Summary

I see an issue on iOS that if I use cloud based style and use userInterfaceStyle='dark' , I will see other default point of interest, buildings, ... will show on the map even though I turn them all off on the Google Map DashBoard.
The weird thing here is for the light mode, it's still working as expected.

On Android it's working for both dark and light mode, it doesn't show point of interest.

Reproducible sample code
/**
 * Sample React Native App
 * https://github.com/facebook/react-native
 *
 * @format
 */

import { StatusBar, StyleSheet, useColorScheme, View } from 'react-native';
import MapView, { PROVIDER_GOOGLE } from 'react-native-maps';
import { SafeAreaProvider } from 'react-native-safe-area-context';

function App() {
  const isDarkMode = useColorScheme() === 'dark';

  return (
    <SafeAreaProvider>
      <StatusBar barStyle={isDarkMode ? 'light-content' : 'dark-content'} />
      <AppContent />
    </SafeAreaProvider>
  );
}

export const DEFAULT_LAT = 40.75277915512556;
export const DEFAULT_LON = -73.97721473197156;

function AppContent() {
  return (
    <View style={styles.container}>
      <MapView
        provider={PROVIDER_GOOGLE} // remove if not using Google Maps
        paddingAdjustmentBehavior="never"
        googleMapId="<google-map-id-here>"
        style={[styles.map]}
        rotateEnabled={false}
        pitchEnabled={false}
        toolbarEnabled={false}
        showsBuildings={false}
        showsIndoors={false}
        showsPointsOfInterests={false}
        showsIndoorLevelPicker={false}
        showsCompass={false}
        showsScale={false}
        showsTraffic={false}
        showsUserLocation={true}
        showsMyLocationButton={false}
        moveOnMarkerPress={false}
        userInterfaceStyle="dark"
        camera={{
          zoom: 16,
          center: {
            latitude: DEFAULT_LAT,
            longitude: DEFAULT_LON,
          },
          heading: 0,
          pitch: 0,
        }}
      />
    </View>
  );
}

const styles = StyleSheet.create({
  container: {
    flex: 1,
  },
  map: {
    ...StyleSheet.absoluteFill,
  },
});
export default App;
Steps to reproduce
  1. Create a map id and select iOS type
  2. Create a custom style on Google Management and turn off all point of interest
  3. Copy the googleMapId and use in app
  4. Set 'dark' for userInterfaceStyle
  5. Observe the result.
Expected result

Should hide all the default point of interest on the map like Light mode:
