Start with the reported index.qmd and run quarto preview index.qmd, then inspect the generated HTML and CSS applied to the linked and linkless list tables. Trace the HTML list-table rendering path to find where a link causes the table-level font-size style to be dropped. Done means both examples retain the .smaller font size, with a regression test covering a table containing a hyperlink.

Bug description

Quarto ignores font-size styles on tables which contain hyperlinks. The style is ignored for the entire table, not just the cell with the link.

Steps to reproduce

Put this in index.qmd and do quarto preview index.qmd:

---
title: "My Document"
format:
  html:
    include-in-header:
      - text: |
          <style>
          .smaller {
            font-size: smaller;
          }
          </style>
---

::: {.list-table .smaller}
- - foo

- - a [linked thing](https://example.com/)
:::

::: {.list-table .smaller}
- - foo

- - a linkless thing
:::

Actual behavior

Only the table without a link is rendered with a smaller font.

Expected behavior

Both tables should be rendered with a smaller font.

Your environment

No IDE. Running CLI quarto in WSL2 (Ubuntu 24.04), on Windows 11.
