Part 1 of 3 of #3603. This carries #11361's scope, which intake split from #3603 (owner Q93), so admission can read it as a session-filed spec. #11362 and #11363 are parts 2 and 3. Author: the issue-triage session.

The six copied lines come from #3603's done-when (split record); the seventh is #3604's finding (close): the /plugin dialog stores auto for the default.

The grandfathered list now lives at docs/contracts/rendered-views/README.md ("Wave-1 adoption and grandfathered surfaces"); docs/conventions/rendered-views/README.md is a redirect stub to it.

  • Each surface on the grandfathered list (docs/conventions/rendered-views/README.md "Wave-1 adoption and grandfathered surfaces") adds the cascade rung per the convention's tier ladder (argument > plugin dial > cascade > shipped default), within the 30-line wiring budget.
  • Each migrated surface's deliverable passes the dual-audience offer-not-emit test.
  • Each migrated surface keeps or adjusts its ladder evals deliberately (for example plugins/adhd/skills/clarify/evals/evals.json eval 3), so no eval still enforces the Artifact-first ladder without a stated reason.
  • Each migration carries the version bookkeeping: semver bump, changelog, options-doc regen.
  • Each migration updates the surface's row implications in the convention doc in the same change, and removes the surface from the grandfathered list.
  • scripts/affected-tests.sh --run passes for the touched surfaces.
  • Each migrated surface's plugin-dial rung treats a literal ${user_config.<key>} token, an empty value and a stored auto as unset and defers to the next rung, as plugins/visualization/skills/visualize/SKILL.md:117-120 does, and an eval covers the stored-auto case. The /plugin dialog cannot unset an option, so auto is what a user who returns to the default actually stores (#3604).
