Rechercherichtung

Start by checking the pinned Kubo release for browser-capable transports and automatic TLS certificate support, then trace how the project creates its Helia node and connection helper. The issue does not name files or tests; locate the helper and its unit tests before making changes. Done means a browser node fetches a block over Bitswap through the configured public multiaddr, and behavior stays unchanged when NEXT_PUBLIC_HELIA_BOOTSTRAP is unset.

Beschreibung

enhancement helia kubo storage tier-3

Summary

Let browser Helia nodes connect directly to the platform node.

Estimated size: M

Motivation

A browser cannot dial plain TCP; it needs WebSocket, WebTransport or WebRTC with a valid certificate.

Proposal

  • Enable the browser-capable transports in Kubo (check what the pinned release supports, including automatic TLS certificates).
  • Document the resulting multiaddr.
  • Add NEXT_PUBLIC_HELIA_BOOTSTRAP (a public multiaddr, not a secret) and pass it to Helia as a bootstrap peer.

Acceptance criteria

  • A browser Helia node connects to the node and fetches a block over Bitswap.
  • Behavior is unchanged when the variable is unset.

Dependencies

  • #59
  • #54

Testing plan

  • Manual browser test documented; connection helper unit-tested.

Part of #43. Ground rules for the content layer: no secrets in the repo, content-layer failures must never block or discard quantum execution, and tests and docs ship with every PR.
