Behaviour

After enter on Linear in /connect, esc left ⠼ waiting in your browser… spinning. It resolved only much later as Linear connection didn't complete, in another conversation. esc should cancel the pending sign-in at once.

Replication

  1. Build dev 837b2b0 (git checkout 837b2b0 && make build, binary bin/codeaf), or install the dev build with curl -fsSL https://agentfield.ai/get/devaf | bash.
  2. Use an isolated profile: export HOME=$(mktemp -d), export OPENROUTER_API_KEY, and keep the default model (~deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash-latest, crew on auto).
  3. On a busy machine set task.max_load to 0 (/settings, Tasks) so the busy-machine gate does not hold tasks.
  4. codeaf, /connect, choose Linear, press enter (do not finish in the browser).
  5. Press esc.

Evidence

  • Screen after esc: ⠼ waiting in your browser… still spinning; later Linear connection didn't complete in another conversation.
  • internal/tui3/connect.go:1015-1036 and internal/tui3/connectcaps.go:95-124 draw the waiting row; no cancel path was found for esc.

Guessed cause

A guess from reading the code, not a confirmed diagnosis. The browser round trip is not tied to a cancellable context from the row, so esc leaves it running until its own timeout.

Acceptance

  • e2e: esc on a pending browser sign-in ends it at once with one line (Linear sign-in cancelled), and no later notice appears elsewhere.
